Snapdeal was under investigation by Labour Department of India, as their employees reported that they are firing their employees. In 2016, Snapdeal fired 600 employees in just a year.   • FreeCharge

FreeCharge was the biggest subsidiary of Snapdeal before it was acquired by Axis Bank in July 2017 for Rs. 385 crores. Basically, it is an e-Commerce website and mobile wallet with facilities like recharging prepaid mobile phone, paying broadband, postpaid and DTH bills, etc. Snapdeal acquired FreeCharge on 8 April, 2015 which was the second biggest take-over of an e-Commerce in India after Ibibo. MakeMyTrip acquired Ibibo which was the biggest venture capital exit within India till now. Launched by Kunal Shah and Sandeep Tandon launched FreeCharge in August 2010 and ranked first in most promising technology startups. FreeCharge was acquired by Snapdeal in April 2015 for Rs. 2800 crore.

  • Reduce Data

Reduce Data is a Silicon Valley based startup that makes various types of real-time and artificial intelligence tools. In 2015, Snapdeal purchased Reduce Data in 2015 to build the best discovery tools for their sellers. It was the 11th acquisition of Snapdeal with investment of $500 million.
