I know that Aussie surfers have a greater capacity for cheese than their American counterparts, but these are some astonishingly cheesy ads...kind of Orbit gum gone public sex. And just for the record, as someone who's been devouing surf ads for 25 years, I don't know of a single campaign that featured male models (instead of name surfers), no matter how cute, that has ever resonated with surfers. I'm gonna make the call and say "good idea, poorly executed, mate." (Now if that was Fanning, screaming "HEEEEEYY!!!", THAT would be spot-on.)

There's something very familiar about these ads. And suddenly I find myself missing my ex-boyfriend a lot. Hmmm. At the very least, this is an ad concept consumers can connect with. Wouldn't you agree?

[...] Radiator launched the new hydro-thermal water wear products using this 4 ad prints for the campaign. I realize sex sells - I get that. But c’mon, where is the statute of limitations on the completely inappropriate. I get it … both the pun and why this, and others to follow their lead, will be successful. I just don’t really want my kids to run across this on a billboard or in a magazine. Though I don’t think ANY advertisement will ever top the most offensive ad I’ve ever seen.
