I've actually done meth four or five times like two years ago and haven't touched it since. I don't feel an urge either. I think "Meth. Not even once." ads are bullshit.

Anthony, I agree the government in general has blown a lot of credibility with the pot thing.
Its unfortunate too, because meth is so bad I don't think you could exaggerate its consequences even if you tried. I've known someone who used it and I can't even describe the results other than saying that person quickly became "crazy" and "messed up" (like, you can visibly see the effect of decay on skin, teeth, nails).

He would disappear for months at a time and come back with quite unbelievable stories like he had been a police officer, or pilot, or fire fighter when he was out of town. As soon as he's back in town, he's unemployed living with parents - and needs a ride everywhere.

The more real, the more cliché for some of us.

But as long as the campaign is targeting teenagers, I think it`s ok.

I like that campaign because it is extreme and kind of scary but probably realistic.

Well, that depends. I've never used meth, nor do I know anyone who uses meth, but I do know the dramatic images and warnings associated with marijuana back in the "just say no" 80's. Once we kids realized that the warnings didn't match the reality, everything else "authority figures" said was understandably questioned. This led to more experimentation, not less (marijuana use exploded shortly afterwards).

If the reality of meth matches these horrific images, then the campaign will work. If not, it won't. Simple as that.
